Neo-Ludendorffism is a method of inquiry taken, in part, from Mathilde Ludendorff’s attempt to bind science to a substitute faith. Her racial doctrine, her claims of intuitive God-cognition, and her use of secret powers as a substitute for mechanism are rejected. Retained are a restriction on what may be asserted, a licence for abstract tools, and a presumption that public regularities hold until a checkable anomaly forces a better model. A fourth rule is added so that unanswered questions do not forbid ordinary human speech. The method disciplines claims. It changes persons or institutions only insofar as they accept unanswered questions without filling them with myth.
